John Soltani 
Director of Coaching







Mission: 

Spartan FC’s Director of Coaching, overseeing all aspects of the club’s soccer operations and ensuring a positive experience for all club members. He has coached in the Spartan FC program since its inception in 2008. John was also the Girls Academy Director at FC United, assistant coach of the Glenbrook North High School Girls Varsity Soccer team, and a chairman of the Young Sportsman’s Soccer League (YSSL). 


As a Coach: 
John began his coaching career in 2004. Aside from his experience with Spartan FC, FC United, and Glenbrook North, John is an Illinois Olympic Development Program staff coach, a Region II and National Olympic Development Program staff coach. 


John’s primary objective has always been to play a role in each child’s development and instill them with an appreciation for the great game of soccer. He strives to assist his players in reaching their potential both technically and emotionally, noting that soccer is a vehicle that can be used to teach important life lessons. 

As a Player:
John played his youth soccer in Northbrook and was a high school standout at Notre Dame High School. 


Personal: 
John is a lifelong Northbrook resident who has a strong sense of community, and a desire to give back through his love for soccer.

 Nicholas Kliminski

Club Administrator & Staff Coach







Nick Kliminski has been an active participant in the soccer community for over 15 years, as both a player and a coach.  A graduate of Waunakee High School, in Wisconsin, Kliminski played four years of NCAA Division III soccer, including three years with Lake Forest College and one year with University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.  His involvement with both teams sparked regular NCAA tournament appearances since 2015, when Kliminski graduated.

Kliminski began coaching early on, obtaining his D-level certification when he was 18.  Since then, he has held coaching positions and worked with local clubs in the Madison area to develop youth players, as well as in camps throughout the Midwest.  Some of his more notable experiences include coaching with ex U.S. National Team player, Brian McBride, as well as coordinating an international soccer clinic, held in Janesville, WI in 2014.  Prior to moving to the Chicago area, he worked as an assistant men's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator with Edgewood College.

Kliminski also holds educational licenses in teaching and administration





Ayman Noureldin

Staff Coach







Mission: 
Coach Ayman is a recent college grad and will be attending a graduate program in Chicago in the near future. He currently lives in Barrington with his family and dog. Soccer has been his passion, so he is grateful for the opportunity to share his passion with young athletes.

Armando Geovanni Tello Jr

Staff Coach







Coaching:
I started coaching in 2017 due to an injury to the knee. I couldn’t just give up on the sport and wanted to give back to the ones who love and have the same passion for the sport as much as I do. I started with personal training anyone from the ages as low as 7 up to 17 years of age. I also coached the U17 Lakeland Rowdies competitive Boy’s Soccer team. 

 

Player:
I’ve played the sport for the majority of my life.  
Played Pro Arena Indoor soccer for the majority of my adult life. 
Started my career as a pro indoor athlete in 2005 with Chicago  Storm and ended in 2017 with Florida Tropics. 
Teams in between include Chicago Mustangs, Chicago Soul, Detroit Waza Flo, Seattle Impact, Cedar Rapids, and Saltillo Rancho Seco.

Personal:
Born and raised in IL and very passionate about the sport of soccer as stated previously. I’m really wanting to pass on everything I’ve learned and know to the ones coming up in the sport. 

Accomplishments:
Experienced pro arena soccer player in the U.S top level.
1st Puerto Rican Player to play in arena Pro Soccer.
Played for Illinois select team 
Preselected team for Puerto Rico national team
Now helping scout for Futsal Federation of Puerto Rico



Jeff Knouse

Staff Coach







Mission: 
Watching young players grow in the game of soccer, and teaching them to apply those lessons in other aspects of their lives drives Jeff as a soccer coach. In addition to Spartan FC, Jeff has spent many years coaching youth soccer, and has also coached boys and girls teams at Glenbrook North High School and Warren Township High School. 


As a Player: 
A Northbrook native, Jeff spent four years playing soccer for Glenbrook North High School, before moving on to West Virginia University, where he spent four years playing Division I soccer for the Mountaineers. 

Personal
Jeff has been a special education instructor for nearly 20 years. He currently makes his home in Northbrook.

Seong Ha



Staff Coach



Mission:
The game is the greatest teacher.  Soccer needs to be fun, engaging, and something develops life skills to become a better player and person overall.  Sport itself builds upon lessons learned from parents, coaches, and their teammates.  Being technically, tactically, and psychologically sound in all facets of the game will provide a great experience for all who want to give back to "the beautiful game".

As a Player: 
Played goalkeeper at Niles West High School from 1992-1995.

Personal: 
Seong is a Business Education teacher in the Career and Technical Education Department at Glenbrook South High School since 2006.  He instructs in Sports Marketing, Consumer Education, and Accounting.  He also taught at Evanston Township High School from 2002-2006.  He earned a B.S. of Accountancy from Indiana University and the Kelley School of Business, then got a teaching certificate in Business Education from Chicago State University, and a Master's Degree in Technology of Education from National Louis University.  Currently sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA) as a Public Relations Director.  In his free time, he is an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) soccer and basketball referee and runs half-marathons.

Rafael Beretta

Mission:
Soccer is more than a sport, it's a passion that I have lived throughout my life and must be followed with a lot of discipline. And as a token of that I want to convey everything learned in each session providing a enjoyable, dynamic and fun experience based on the values of discipline, sacrifice, commitment and respect between each player.

AS A COACH:
I've been working as a coach for 10 years with boys and girls of all ages spreading the sport and practicing everything I learned. 

As a Player:
I've played soccer since I was very young in minor divisions. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to belong to the National Pre Selection U15 selection as well as play professional level in Sport Boys Association of the Peruvian League of soccer.

 Also participate as a player in Northern Illinois Rebels at the A.I.S.L. and Grand FC Mustangs in the U.S.L, both professional indoor leagues in the USA
