Train To Develop. Play to Win.

2010/11 Birth Year Program Overview

The goal of the U8 program is to teach young, motivated players basic soccer skills in a fun and appropriately challenging environment. We refer to this age group as the "opportunity age group", where a positive and fun environment will foster a player's love for soccer—one that we hope will continue for many years to come. Players in our U8 program receive professional training in age-appropriate groups with an emphasis on technical skill development, physical development and cognitive learning.

2009 - 2007 Birth Year Program Overview

The U9 through U11 age levels are designed to build upon the strong foundation provided by our U8 program. The program becomes incrementally more competitive and challenging as players progress through the U9 through U11 age groups, all while maintaining the fun and constructive learning environment that has made Spartan FC so popular. As players progress through these age groups, technical, physical and cognitive development is complemented by the introduction of simple tactics that focus on teamwork and increase the enjoyment of the game of soccer. These age groups also begin to lay the foundation for the “Fire Way”, the soccer philosophy developed by the Chicago Fire MLS team. This is the same philosophy taught by FC United, the U12-U18 program into which Spartan FC feeds.
